(Normal, IL) – DESTIHL® Brewery has announced today that it is set to release a new seasonal edition of their highly celebrated WiLD SOUR SERIES in the form of Synchopathic Apricot, a kettle soured and dry-hopped sour ale brewed with apricots.
Synchopathic Apricot “synchs” our refreshingly tart sour ale with the citrus dry-hopping of a pale ale. Biscuity malt and an uplifting stone fruit beat from added apricots form a perfect harmony in this delicately balanced and delightfully enjoyable beer.
DESTIHL’s highly revered WiLD SOUR SERIES is kettle soured utilizing the brewery’s own culture of wild microflora originally harvested from the terroir of Central Illinois. This leads to truly authentic sour, tart, fruity and floral characteristics within this entire series of industry-changing beers.
Synchopathic Apricot is the third of four seasonal releases in 2017 as part of the WiLD SOUR SERIES. The seasonal sour releases kicked off in January with DESTIHL’s award-winning Flanders Red, followed in the spring/summer by Blueberry Gose.
In addition to the WiLD SOUR SERIES seasonal releases, DESTIHL has two year-round offerings in the series including Here Gose Nothin’®, a Leipzig-style Gose, and SynchopathicTM, the base beer for Sychopathic Apricot and also a dry-hopped sour ale.
The highly-anticipated Synchopathic Apricot will be released in draft and 4-pack 12oz cans through its distribution partners in 20 states plus Washington, D.C. in August. Synchopathic Apricot will also be available on tap and in cans at both DESTIHL Restaurant & Brew Works locations in Normal, IL and Champaign, IL as well as at the brewery’s massive new production facility and Beer Hall which opened on May 27th in Normal, IL.
When Founder, CEO and Brewmaster, Matt Potts, was asked where Synchopathic Apricot stands on the hierarchy of the WiLD SOUR SERIES he replied, “We will find out soon enough once the beer hits the market in August since this is the first year we’ve released it in cans, but the feedback last year for the draft-only release was phenomenal. With that feedback along with our own love of this beer, the decision to put Synchopathic Apricot in cans this year was an easy one, and we are expecting this new canned release to do extremely well and to keep moving the WiLD SOUR SERIES onward and upward in the sour beer market.”
Synchopathic Apricot will be hitting shelves next week. DESTIHL will reveal the final 2017 seasonal release in the WiLD SOUR SERIES later this year.
