Longmont, CO – August 3, 2017 – Thanks to a collaBREWation between Rockyard Brewing Company and Oskar Blues Brewery, the CAN’d Aid Foundation will benefit from all proceeds of the new Rockin’ Blues Melon IPA set to release on August 25th. This beer kicks off a one year partnership with Rockyard Brewing Co. where CAN’d Aid will benefit from pizza sales and other restaurant fundraising efforts.
To kick off the the Rockin’ Melon IPA release, Rockyard is hosting a Rockin’ Blues Party on Friday, August 25 from 6pm – 9pm with CAN’d Aid and Oskar Blues. Expect brews, bites and jams at the party. CAN’d Aid TUNES ambassadors Interstate Stash Express will rock attendees’ earholes and while they are among the first to crack the brand spankin’ new brew.
This collaBREWation is not the first time the two have partnered for good. CAN’d Aid was first established after the 2013 Colorado floods, with Rockyard Brewing Co. as one of its first donors: the brewery took their Whiskey River Stout out of barrels and contributed 100% of profits toward CAN’d Aid to support flood recovery efforts in Colorado. Four years later, Rockyard still works to give back and support the community.
“We at Rockyard are incredibly thankful for more than 18 years of success and believe giving back to the community that has helped make us successful is incredibly important,” says Laird Mulderink of Rockyard Brewing. “CAN’d Aid’s mission resonates with who we are at Rockyard. All in all, we’re good people who want to surround ourselves with other good people!”
The Rockin’ Blues Melon IPA will be available in limited quantities and will mark the first time Rockyard has canned one of their beers. 50 barrels were produced and they will can 480 cases to sell at Colorado liquor stores, as well as at the Rockyard Brewing Co. Pub and select Oskar Blues Fooderies.
Ahead of the party on August 25th, CAN’d Aid Foundation and Rockyard invite volunteers to come out and do a little good at the East Plum Creek Cleanup. Show a little love for Mama Earth and meet at the Calvary Church Parking Lot in Castlerock at 4pm. Learn more and sign up to volunteer here.
Past nonprofit partners of Rockyard Brewing Co. include The Crisis Center, Douglas and Elbert County Task Force, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and Hide In Plain Sight. In addition to the proceeds from the sale of the Rockin’ Blues Melon IPA, Rockyard Brewery will also contribute $1 from every pizza sold between July 2017 and July 2018 to the CAN’d Aid Foundation.
Raw materials, brewing expertise and canning goodness were also donated from New Age Beverage, Hop Head Farms, BSG Craftbrewing, CanSource and Mobile Canning Systems to make this happen.
